Paint a Pot works for any age 0-100+!

We love helping you to capture hand & footprints with your wee bubs as well as welcoming your little ones from toddlers to teens - they inspire us with their freedom in creating! And we’re always up for hosting kids parties and helping them to have fun with their friends.

We also host a monthly adults only evening every last Friday 6-9pm at Joy House Creations with access to the bar and a drink included in your ticket if you want some child-free relaxation.

At Joy House Creations we really value giving you the opportunity to slow down, and allowing you the space and time to enter into the restful flow of creativity.

Lots of Pottery Painting cafes give you just an hour and a half to complete your pottery, but we have decided to double the time you have to give you a relaxed experience with your family and friends.

We know that everyone works at a different pace, so you can use as much of your 3 hours as you need, or can choose to paint another item if you’re feeling ambitious!

Whatever the venue, your ticket covers our studio fee, which includes studio time, materials, and the glazing/firing process. If you are unable to attend, your £5 will not be refunded.

All pottery will then be purchased separately at your booking.

Our pottery ranges from £10-£45 as we want to make creativity as accessible and affordable for you as we possibly can! Most of our items are between £10 and £20, with just a few larger items at the more expensive end.

Whatever the venue, you will also have a small studio fee to cover the cost of venue, materials and glazing - but we still aim to be as affordable as possible. This studio fee will either be paid on the day if you are dropping into the studio, or will be your Ticket price if pre-booking.

Yes! We get our pottery from a wonderful UK supplier who have a huge range of pots to choose from.

As our shipping container shop is only small our range is much smaller than our supplier has to offer.

If you have a specific event in mind or a themed party, please get in touch with us and we can chat about what other options are available!

We currently rent out kilns to fire your work, so this one is a little tricky to give a solid answer!

We try our best to get your work through the kilns in the 4-6 weeks following your workshop, ready for you to collect from our workshop in Ffos Caerffili. Please note that this timeline is a rough estimate, it can take longer in busier periods, or if our lovely kiln rentals have got a lot of bookings to fit us around. Please have patience while your beautiful creations are making it safely through every stage of the process of glazing and firing!

We always take your contact details at a workshop so that we can message you as soon as your creations are ready to be collected.

Please bear with us if we are unable to meet this, as there are so many variable factors that we cannot control.

We’re also often open for evening workshops, and are up for exploring any private bookings with you outside of our opening hours.

We’re located really close to Caerphilly Castle, and there are lots of cheap parking options a very short walk away.

We recommend parking at The Twyn Car Park, or Crescent Road Car Park - both of which are free after 6pm (ideal for Paint a Pot evenings!) and walking 5 minutes over to us.

Ffos Caerffili is all accessible, and Joy House Creations is located on the ground floor so you shouldn’t even need to use the lift to get to us! There are also two disabled toilets on site for your use.

Feel free to drop us a message if you’re a wheelchair user so that we can make sure there’s plenty of space for you at the table.

If you’re visiting us at Joy House Creations you’re in for a treat alongside the complimentary tea & biscuits from us!

We’re based in the wonderful Ffos Caerffili Market, which means you’ll have access to all of the incredible Street Food traders on site during your visit. We can also offer you drinks packages from the Bar, just drop us a message to discuss.

If you’re joining us in an external venue, we’ll make sure there is plenty of access to refreshments, too. The Lounges and Big Dog Coffee have lush menus that you can order from, and we have biscuits in abundance at Lark!

We understand that sometimes life throws us a curveball and you may need to cancel, please do let us know if this is the case as we may then be able to open up the space to other customers.

Unfortunately we are unable to refund any tickets as such a small business.
